Behavior modification

Behavior modification is achieved through applied behavior analysis (ABA), a process of systematic application of the principles of learning to acquire and cultivate cognitive, academic and social skills to achieve compatibility and adaptability of the child to their environment along with the correction of socially unacceptable behaviors.

The following global programs are used to achieve these goals:
• YAB to modify behavior and develop cognitive skills
• TEACCH as a basis of the organizational structure of the educational process
• Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) which uses photos as a basis for communication and interaction
• Activities of Daily Living (ADL) to develop daily self-care tasks and activities
• Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) for the development of mental and cognitive abilities with the aid of computers

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disability, not a disease, that affects children typically during early childhood or from birth. It impacts various aspects of cognitive and developmental growth.
